Promotions

Run a discount on your services and add-ons for a set period, shown to everyone or unlocked with a code.

Promotions let you run a discount on your services and add-ons for a set period, without changing your regular prices. A promotion can show up for everyone who books online, or stay hidden until a client enters a code you hand out.

Promotions are included on every DetailerMade plan. Private, code-based promotions need the Choice or Exclusive plan. Owners and admins manage them.

Two Kinds of Promotion

  • Public. Shows in a banner on your booking page and applies on its own at checkout when a client picks a service or add-on it covers. The client doesn't do anything.

  • Private. Hidden from your booking page. The client types your code into the Have a promo code? field at checkout. Use it for flyers, events, or a specific group of clients.

Creating a Promotion

  1. Open the Business tab. Under Marketing, tap Promotions.

  2. Tap New Promotion.

  3. Give it a Title. Clients see this, so name it the way you'd advertise it. A description is optional.

  4. Set the Duration. Tap 7, 14, 30, or 90 days, or pick your own start and end dates. If you pick your own dates, the promotion ends at the start of the end date, so choose the day after the last day you want it to run.

  5. Set the Discount. Choose % Off or $ Off and enter the amount.

  6. Choose what it Applies to. Pick All services & add-ons, or Specific ones and check the items you want. Select all services, Select all add-ons, and the category buttons add items in bulk.

  7. Choose the Visibility. For Private (code), enter the code clients will type. Codes are 3 to 32 letters, numbers, dashes, or underscores, with no spaces. Capitalization doesn't matter.

  8. Optional limits. Max total uses caps how many times the promotion can be used overall. Limit to one use per client stops repeat use. It's off unless you turn it on.

  9. Tap Save.

What Your Clients See

A public promotion appears in a banner at the top of your booking page with the discount and the end date. At checkout, the discount is added as its own line.

For a private promotion, the client taps Have a promo code? on the payment step, enters the code, and taps Apply.

The promotion also shows as a line on the client's invoice and on the job's quote in your app.

How the Discount Works

  • The discount applies only to the services and add-ons the promotion covers, not the whole job.

  • A dollar-off promotion never takes more than those items cost.

  • A promotion comes off the balance due at service. It does not lower the deposit paid at booking. Checkout tells the client this.

  • Tax is calculated before the promotion comes off.

  • One promotion per booking. If a client qualifies for a public promotion and also enters a code, the code is used. If two public promotions could apply, the client gets the bigger discount.

  • A promotion works alongside a discount you add to the job yourself, and alongside gift cards.

  • Promotions don't apply to estimates.

Promotions on Jobs You Create

Promotions also work on jobs you book yourself in the app.

  • When you create a job and a running promotion covers what's on it, a card shows the savings and Apply promotion to this job is on. Turn it off to charge full price.

  • On an existing job, owners and admins can tap Promo on the quote to add or remove a promotion.

Promotions you apply this way count toward Max total uses and the one-per-client limit.

Editing, Archiving, and Deleting

Tap a promotion to edit it. Your list shows each one as Active, Expired, or Archived, along with how many times it has been used.

After a promotion has been used once, everything except the title and description is locked. That protects the price on bookings already made.

Use the menu on a promotion to end it:

  • Delete removes a promotion that has never been used.

  • Archive ends a promotion. It stops applying to new bookings and stays in your list for your records. Archiving can't be undone.

Good to Know

  • A promotion that has hit its Max total uses stops showing on your booking page.

  • If a code has expired, reached its limit, or doesn't match anything in the booking, the client sees a message saying so.

  • Employees can't create or edit promotions.

Pro Tip: Scope a promotion to one add-on, like a ceramic spray or an engine bay clean, instead of discounting a whole package. Clients add it because it's on sale, and your core prices stay where they are.
