Time logging

Time logging lets your employees clock in and out right from the app, so you always have an accurate record of hours worked — without chasing down timesheets or doing the math by hand. Those hours feed straight into payroll for your hourly team members.


Clocking In and Out

Employees track their time from the app:

  1. Tap Clock In to start the clock.

  2. Tap Clock Out when they're done.

  3. Log any break minutes so paid time stays accurate.

That's it — each shift becomes a clean time entry tied to the employee.


Editing and Adding Entries

As the business owner or admin, you stay in control:

  • Add entries manually — forgot to clock in, or paying for work done off-app? Create an entry yourself with the start time, end time, and any breaks.

  • Edit entries — fix a mistake on any entry. Every change is recorded, so there's always a clear trail of who adjusted what.


How Time Connects to Payroll

Time entries are the foundation of payroll for hourly employees. When you run payroll for a date range, DetailerMade totals each employee's tracked hours automatically. Learn more about payroll.

To protect those numbers, entries lock once they're part of an approved payroll run — they can't be edited or deleted after that point. This keeps your hours and the pay you've already approved perfectly in sync.

Pro Tip: Encourage your team to tie their clock-ins to a job. Over time you'll see exactly how long different services take — useful for pricing and scheduling.
