Payroll [BETA]

Payroll turns the work your team already did into a reviewable, ready-to-pay run — no spreadsheets, no manual tallying. DetailerMade pulls together tracked hours and completed jobs, lets you review and adjust, then locks everything in once you approve.


How Employees Get Paid

Every employee has a compensation setup, and you can keep a history of their rate changes over time. There are two ways an employee can be paid:

  • Hourly — paid from their tracked time entries, split into regular and overtime based on your settings. Learn more about time logging.

  • Job percentage — paid a cut of the completed jobs they were assigned to.


Running Payroll

  1. Start a run — pick a date range (DetailerMade can suggest the next pay period for you) and choose which employees to include.

  2. Review the draft — DetailerMade calculates everything automatically:

    • Hourly employees: total hours for the period, split into regular and overtime, multiplied by their rate.

    • Job-percentage employees: revenue from the completed jobs they worked, with their percentage applied.

    Every line is linked back to the hours and jobs behind it, so you can always see how a number was reached.

  3. Make adjustments — add bonuses or deductions per employee as needed.

  4. Approve — when the numbers look right, approve the run.


What Approval Does

Approving a payroll run locks the period. Once approved:

  • The time entries and jobs in that period can no longer be edited or deleted.

  • You have a permanent record of what was paid and why.

This protects you from accidental changes after pay has been finalized, and gives you a clean audit trail for every pay period.


Keeping Records

You can review past payroll runs anytime, see a full summary of each one — gross pay, adjustments, and total payout, broken down by employee — and export a run for your records.
